Meet your Caregiver Support for Alzheimer's and Dementia Therapist in Boca Raton, FL
Hi, I’m Dr. Amanda! A Doctorate in Social Work and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides compassionate support to adults caring for loved ones living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
Caring for someone with dementia can be complicated. You may be trying to understand changes in your loved one's memory, behavior, or personality while also managing your own emotions and responsibilities. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, guilty for needing a break, or unsure of what to expect next. You may even find yourself grieving changes in your relationship while still trying to be present for the person you love.
You don't have to navigate those changes alone. My approach combines emotional support, dementia caregiver education, mindfulness, coping strategies, and strength-based and trauma-informed approaches. Together, we'll work on understanding what you're experiencing, managing difficult emotions, navigating changes, and finding realistic ways to care for yourself while continuing to care for your loved one.
My goal is to provide an environment where you can be honest about the realities of caregiving. You can talk about the frustration, sadness, guilt, uncertainty, and grief that may be difficult to share with others while also learning practical tools to help you feel more prepared and supported. You can love someone deeply and still need support yourself. Your well-being matters, too.
